     Philomena Thumboochetty is a violinist who plays western classical music. Her father T. Thumboochetty was Huzur Secretary to the Mysore Maharaja. Mother Lady Gertrude Chelvavathy . Husband Francis Kantaraj Thumboochetty. Elder sister Josephine Dharmavati Raju. she started her Indian music after marriage, she was always musically inclined, so after marriage she started learning music.She learnt the Gottu Vadyam. Brother in law was in the income tax department and he worked first in the south , in Dindigul and the he was transferred to Madras, Delhi , Bombay and so on And he retired as Commissioner of Income tax.
